-Operator is a short film released in 2015. Yes, it's one of the most intense films I’ve ever seen. It’s curazy. The film has a nice cinematic aspect ratio. The film is similar to Adam Sandler's Uncut Gems. It has a sense of authenticity to it.
Performance
The Operator’s performance (thanks, Kate Dickie) is very interesting. She has a furrowed brow. She looks wistfully into the middle distance as if she longs for freedom from here psychologically torturous occupation. She smirks when she’s done her dirty business. There’s a lot of focus on her eyes and blinking which are rich with empathy, world weariness and emotion.
We dolly around the back of her head before seeing her face Its presented just like one of many operations.
Sound
The sound of the call is very bad quality, which lends a sense of realism. This also means you have to listen very intently in order to hear all the small details. The extra attention you have to exert in order to understand the call gives it an extra sense of immersion and it aligns the perspective of those spectators with the heroin.
Mise En Scene.
The operating centre is cluttered and claustrophobic.
The colour is very dark while the computer monitors are bright in contrast which comes across as discordant.
The operators wear normal business attire. There’s not much in the way of bright colours, so this shows it's very serious and bureaucratic.
Somethings happened to all these words here on this page that I don't approve of.
